We enrolled our two boys at Goldfish Swim School recently after a great trial lesson. One of my sons has specialized learning and sensory needs, and finding a program that could effectively support unique developmental challenges was our top priority. Before enrolling, we asked if they had experience in this area and were told they did.
Our trial went very well—everyone was kind, patient, and welcoming. The facility was clean and fun. Initially, both boys loved their weekly lessons.
As time went on, however, my son began developing severe anxiety around the water. Each lesson became progressively harder until he was fearful of entering the pool. I want to emphasize that the instructors and lifeguards were always friendly, encouraging, and genuinely cared. My concern isn’t with their kindness; rather, I don’t believe they had the specialized training or behavioral techniques required to help a child work through those specific anxieties successfully.
At a recent lesson, my son cried the entire class. Feeling it was no longer in his best interest to put him through that stress, I asked to withdraw him. I was told that without a 30-day notice, I would still be responsible for the next month’s payment. This was difficult to hear because unique developmental challenges don’t give a 30-day notice. We could not predict he would develop this fear.
I asked to transfer his remaining classes to his brother. The only option offered was to mark him absent each week, convert the misses to tokens, and use them for his brother. While grateful for the workaround, it made me wonder what families with only one child would do. They would be forced to pay for lessons their child can no longer attend due to unforeseen circumstances.
My disappointment stems entirely from corporate inflexibility and a lack of accommodation when a child’s specialized needs change. Because of how poorly it was handled, I have decided to withdraw both of my children.

You’ve got to bring your kids to Goldfish Swimming School. This’ an awesome swimming schoo. They teach and interact with students individually while in the pool and the environment is super clean. Goldfish Swimming School, a real school that unearth great talents. Thank you guys.

We recently had a wonderful experience at Goldfish Swim School that I just had to share. Due to a scheduling change, we weren’t originally slated to be in our usual instructor Clarissa’s class that day, and my son was understandably very upset about the change.
Even though Clarissa was working her lifeguard/safeguard duty at the time, she noticed how distressed my son was. She went above and beyond to coordinate a switch with another instructor, allowing my son to jump into her class instead.
Thank you so much to Clarissa for her empathy and for truly caring about the children’s experience. A big thank you to the rest of the Goldfish team as well for being so accommodating and professional. We are so happy to be part of this swim community!

I am very disappointed with my experience and hope someone from management will take the time to review my situation.
Due to health-related circumstances, I needed to temporarily pause my children’s weekly classes. At the time, I was assured that the classes we had already paid for in full would be converted into “tokens” that could be used at a later date when we were ready to return.
When I recently called to restart classes, I was informed that all of our tokens had expired and that there was nothing that could be done because of a provision in the contract. This was the first time I had ever been made aware that the tokens had an expiration date. No staff member mentioned this when we paused our classes, nor was I contacted at any point before the tokens expired.
As a parent who prepaid for classes for three children, it is extremely frustrating to be told that a significant amount of money has simply been forfeited, especially when the circumstances that caused us to pause were outside of our control. While I understand that businesses have policies, I believe clear communication and reasonable flexibility are equally important.
What is most disappointing is not the policy itself, but the complete unwillingness to work with a long-time customer to find a fair solution. I would greatly appreciate having someone from management reach out to discuss this matter and explore options for honoring at least some of the classes that were already paid for.
I hope the company will reconsider its position and demonstrate the level of customer service and compassion that families expect.

My kids have a blast here. Not only is this a great stepping stone to teach your kids how to swim. The staff is very friendly and the management is amazing. We had an issue that was fixed promptly and professionally. I was very amazed by the supervisors and management team. I would highly recommend to have your kids not only get their fear of the water under control but to also learn the fundamentals of swimming and all the different swimming styles as you progress.
