My daughter started at Juniper at 4 months old. And I couldn’t find anyone to do infant safety where if they fall in they automatically roll to their backs. By 18 months, I tried (1 season) at seahorse academy— I would never recommend that place… but 2.5-3 yrs old and juniper swim lessons she still wasn’t back floating alone and no private lessons yet due to Covid. Wasn’t until my friend who moved away suggested Mary. Within a few times she was back floating! I was shocked how fast and little effort it took, meanwhile her daycare moms were still in the lessons with juniper. I was born in the 80s, grew up in the 90s in Oregon and Mary is my style through and through. Once we had our son and she said get him back floating, I worked with him in her pool while my daughter sharpened her skills. Learning their techniques so I could pass him over to them when classes were available. He started at 2, we’re coming up to a year, but his skills are so much more advanced than his sister’s at this age. I’m so grateful for her dedication and get family’s dedication to care about swim safety💛

Mary is an amazing swim instructor! She’s super patient, encouraging, and really knows how to make learning fun. I felt comfortable and confident in the water thanks to her clear instructions and calm energy. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their swimming or just get more comfortable in the pool.

We love Mary McCool Swim school! All three instructors are absolutely amazing with the kids, so supportive and teach so well at all skill levels. My 11 year old knew how to swim when we first started going, but he wasn’t a strong swimmer and wasn’t taught proper techniques. Mary has taught him so much, I’m just floored at his swimming abilities in such a short amount of time. My 5 year old who was terrified of water has enjoyed every minute of his lessons from day one. I honestly was worried he would never learn to swim because he was so resistant. Now swim day is their favorite day of the week! Thank you McCool family for all you do for the kids in our community. We adore you!

Mary and her staff are kind, firm, and focused with the kids. They have a clear system they adhere to, teaching safety always, followed by skills and technique. My child progressed more in 6 lessons at the McCool Pool than she had at the City pool in over fifty lessons. I paid more to have her in lessons with one other student at Mary McCool’s rather than the 5-6 kiddos she shared lessons with at City pool. The discipline and expectations were much higher at Mary’s as well as repetitive skills focused on. Their program has my daughter swimming safely and skillfully after this first summer of her age 5-6. She wants to continue indefinitely which is awesome.
