Carin has taught both of our kiddos swim lessons and we can’t recommend her highly enough. They are very different kids and we love her approach and how she interacts with each of them. After each starting lessons around a year old, our 7-year-old is now on swim team and loving it and our 3-year-old knows how to swim and be safe in the pool. The smaller size of the pool was also really helpful in getting our kids comfortable in the water since it’s less intimidating than a huge rec center pool.

Aqua Star is great! I have two daughters (7yrs & 4yrs.) who were scared of putting their heads under water and floating. We had done group classes for 2-3 months and with the limited 1:1 time they were making little progress. After their first individual classes at Aqua Star I could see how quickly their confidence changed. They were excited to go to class every week and loved the ‘big bath tub’ which felt less intimidating than a large and busy pool. The instructor was sweet and took the time to listen to the girls’ fears then worked with both of them to overcome them. I highly recommend Aqua Star to people who are introducing their children to the pool/swimming, as well as children who may be fearful or struggling to get it to ‘click’. The location is lovely and looks over a beautiful lake and pricing is reasonable/ well worth the value!

Carin is amazing! We brought our daughter to Aqua Star’s after she had a bad experience during a group swim class. She was terrified after that incident and we ended up quitting. Luckily a neighbor recommended Carin and Aqua Star’s. Carin made our daughter feel so comfortable and safe during the private lessons. She had her swimming after 1-2 months of private lessons and loves the water! I can not recommend Aqua Star’s enough!

We enrolled our son (4) to take lessons with Carin. In just four lessons, he was swimming independently. This result in such a short amount of time seemed impossible, but Carin is a miracle worker, and watching her work with our son during her lessons is amazing. Her patience and flexibility to keep the lessons moving with a young boy’s attention span are nothing short of angelic. Seeing the difference in our son’s lessons as they progress have now allowed us to watch him dive under water for objects and retrieve them with little effort. He can now go down the adult water slide at our local indoor rec center pool, as well as be in the deep end without a flotation device. We can’t say enough good about Carin, and we will be bringing our daughter to Carin when she is ready. We recommend Carin and Aquastar to anyone! Awesome experience all the way around.

My children have been coming to Aqua star for several months. They were slow to start and I have been very impressed with Carin’s ability to challenge them while making sure they still had fun and felt safe. She is the first person who was able to get my son to put his face in the water after several years of group lessons. Her prices are very reasonable given her level of experience and professionalism. I will always be grateful to Carin for teaching my kids to swim.
